Dehumidifiers

The need for a dehumidifier arises when there are various signs around that indicate that you should go in for a dehumidifier. One of the signs of excessive moisture is the condensation of water on the windows. If we notice that there is moisture inside the windows then that indicates that you need a dehumidifier.

If you find wet spots on the ceiling tiles or walls then this means that there is excessive moisture in the air, which would become unpleasant for the people living in. Such a condition is really difficult to bear with for asthmatic, respiratory and allergic patients. If the home has recently been involved in a flood or other natural disaster, a dehumidifier can also help remove that excess moisture from the home.

The function of a dehumidifier is to remove the excess moisture existing in the air by moving the warm air through two coils, similar to what a air conditioner does. A dehumidifier works similar to a refrigerator however instead of directing the cooling action into a closed box of coils; it blows out warm moist room air on these coils. The moisture present in the room air turns into liquid water as it gets condensed on the coils. The water then release out into a pan or a drain.

Portable Dehumidifiers are nothing but similar to room units that are like freestanding machines which are plugged into standard electrical outlets. These portable dehumidifiers are capable enough to cover 1-2 rooms, if there are larger units in place then this range can be increased to keep several rooms comfortable.

Currently, there are many models available in the marker for these portable dehumidifiers. There is a desktop model available in the portable series but one should not set too much of expectations with this as it wont be able to cover a wide area, it is just sufficient enough to make yourself comfortable in a cubicle at work.

2) They are bulky though they are on rolling casters to move them from one place to another.
3) It needs daily maintenance.
4) Most of them don’t come with removable tanks.
